The 3rd Annual BLK BIZ SUMMIT is thrilled to announce that award-winning author, documentarian, and entrepreneur Victoria Scott-Miller will inaugurate the event with a compelling fireside chat on Mental Wealth and Black Entrepreneurship. The chat will be hosted by Chisa Pennix-Brown, Chief Curator of Give It To The People®. The summit, aimed at empowering Black entrepreneurs, will take place on August 2, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Chesterfield Building, 701 West Main Street, Durham, NC 27701. Victoria Scott-Miller, the visionary behind North Carolina's first Black-owned children's bookstore, Liberation Station, has been a transformative force in promoting literacy and empowerment within the Black community. Her work has been spotlighted in major media outlets including Good Morning America, CNN, and Oprah Magazine. Victoria is also the creator of the acclaimed book series "The Museum Lives in Me," which has been incorporated into public elementary schools and libraries across North Carolina. In her words, "Recognizing that stress is at the center of disease within our community, it is crucial for us as a community to engage actively in sacred spaces such as 'Give It To The People’s BLK BIZ SUMMIT.' This engagement promotes collective liberation and healing, which in turn fosters our capacity, agency, and creativity to continue doing the work that matters. May we all evolve into collective practitioners."
